Hand-crafted ceramic sculptures, teapots, lamps, cooking ware, birdhouses, soap dispensers, jewelry, ornaments and much more will be on sale at the Annual Potters Market. Over 130 potters will sell their wares at the event, held annually the weekend following Thanksgiving. Admssion and parking is free and the public is invited. We accept Visa and Mastercard and we wrap your purchase for the ride home.

The sale fills every nook and cranny of the 12,000 square foot United Food & Commercial Worker’s Union Hall in Madison Heights. The hall is located at 876 Horace Brown Drive, two blocks south of 13 Mile Road between Stephenson Highway and John R.

The largest sale of its type in the country, the Potters Market is also unique because it enables advanced and former students of the Ceramic Technology program in Royal Oak to become involved in all aspects of planning, organizing, staffing, publicity, setup, record keeping and selling their eclectic ware at this extraordinary event. Many guest potters have been invited to participate. Their work will further expand the variety of clay products available to visitors.

    Over 8000 clay lovers attend The Potters Market each year. At last years sale, 33,000 pieces of clay were sold.  Every type of stoneware, porcelain, raku, and smoke-fired functional and non-functional ware can be found at the sale including tiles, cooking and serving vessels, mugs, tea pots, vases - large and small, tiled and mosaic tables, mirrors,  shelves and picture frames, jewelry, Christmas ornaments, sculptures, and lawn decorations too!

    Although crowds are large and sales are brisk, the displays never get empty as there is a huge storeroom from which pieces are replaced as quickly as they are sold.  More comfortable shopping takes place on Friday and Saturday afternoons, as well as all day on Sunday since the sales floor is less crowded.
